This is a limited edition reproduction of a hand made African Pompano Gyotaku. The original print was made with Acrylic Paint on Thai Mulberry paper. The eye is meticulously painted to match the real thing with watercolor paints.
This fish was shot during a spearfishing tournament by Steve. The fish measured in at 40" and the original print size is 30"x50". Steve requested that streamers be added to the original. This print is available with or without streamers.

Gyotaku prints are a unique, artisanal form of documenting and remembering a prized catch that began in Japan in the mid-1800's. They are a wonderful physical representation of a cherished memory you had while catching or hunting these beautiful fish. Gyotaku prints make great talking points and are perfect starters for wild fish tales.
