This is a limited edition reproduction of a hand made Seahorse Gyotaku. The original print was made with Acrylic Ink on Thai Mulberry paper. The eye is meticulously painted to match the real thing with watercolor paints. The seahorse used for this print was bought dried and can be reused many times to create new prints.
These reprints are produced with Giclée printers with the highest quality archival paper and pigments ensuring your investment will last many generations. Each print is made to order, hand signed, numbered and marked with my Japanese Hanko (Name Stamp).

Gyotaku prints are a unique, artisanal form of documenting and remembering a prized catch that began in Japan in the mid-1800's. They are a wonderful physical representation of a cherished memory you had while catching or hunting these beautiful fish. Gyotaku prints make great talking points and are perfect starters for wild fish tales.
