This is an Original hand made Mutton Snapper Gyotaku made with Japanese Sumi ink on Korean Mulberry paper. The eye is meticulously painted to match the real thing with watercolor paints.
Each print original is hand signed, numbered and marked with my Japanese Hanko (Name Stamp).
Gyotaku prints are a unique, artisanal form of documenting and remembering a prized catch that began in Japan in the mid-1800's. They are a wonderful physical representation of a cherished memory you had while catching or hunting these beautiful fish. Gyotaku prints make great talking points and are perfect starters for wild fish tales.
